Apparently, My Spirit Animal Is a Golden Retriever

Emiliya Zhivotovskaya told me that my spirit animal is a golden retriever.

This came as a surprise.

I would have guessed something closer to a rattlesnake—alert, discerning, not here for nonsense. 🐍
So naturally, I paused.

But then I looked at the evidence.

I was the first to finish my chapter for our book, How We Flourish.
The first to sign up for the author interview.
Not because I was rushing—
but because when something matters, I show up ready.

Golden retrievers aren’t loud.
They’re not flashy.
They don’t posture.

They’re steady. Loyal. Purposeful.
They bring calm into chaos and joy into heavy rooms.
They retrieve what matters and carry it gently back to the circle.

And honestly?
That might be the most accurate description of my work—and my way of being—that I’ve ever heard.

I still have boundaries.
I still have discernment.
I still know how to growl when needed.

But at my core?
I’m here to create safety, connection, and forward movement—together.

Turns out…
Golden Retriever energy isn’t soft.
It’s trustworthy.

And I’ll happily claim that. 🐾✨
